Pumpkin Spice Latte. Peppermint Mocha. Gingerbread Latte. Passion Fruit Tea. Frappuccino. We all have them. Our favorite drink from Starbucks. We know the name. We know the price. We know the size we want. We know the season it is offered. We know what the design of the cup will be. It is exciting. Atleast, it is for me.
It is easy for me to memorize a menu from Starbucks. The desire comes naturally. Scripture is the hard part. If I studied Scripture the way most study Starbucks, one would probably mistake me for a theologian.
But this is not the case.
A little girl that I tutor on sundays knows more memory verses than I do. When a fourth grader knows more than a senior in college-there is a problem.
Fortunately, this reality will not remain a reality for long. One of the many goals that I have set for myself this semester is to memorize.
For each cup of coffee that I drink, I have decided to couple that with learning one Bible verse.
This could cure my addiction and save my bank account, or I could increase in knowledge daily, lets hope for the latter.
