Olympics.

2012 Olympics.
Every night this past week has been spent watching the games and will continue to do so until the end. It happens every four years-conforming to watching the games becomes mandatory :)
Synchronized diving has become my favorite sport to watch. It is beautiful. Although China dominates in that area, each athlete is poised, gracious, and deserves to win gold.
This year, even more entertaining than watching diving, has been watching the crowd cheer.
Specifically, the athletes parents.
Watching the parents of Phelps, Lochte, Douglas, Franklin, and many more has been pure bliss. Each parent has a terrified expression which quickly turns into sheer joy towards the end. The celebration of the crowd is incredible to watch. Even Prince William and Kate got overly excited.

To watch this excitement truly warms my heart. If we can become this excited over a sport being played, how much more cheering can be happening in Heaven over a person being saved?
Hebrews 12:1 states,"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." The crowd and the parents at the Olympics, pales in comparison to the cloud of witnesses that surround us and cheer for us daily-not just every four years. That is hard for me to even fathom, yet thrilling at the same time.
